Likak Research - LIKAK 12

Clinical research in Africa is an embryonic, even larval, sector. However, it represents an important lever for development. That’s why Likak Research makes it a point of honour to talk about this industry at every opportunity, even among the younger generation, in the hope of sparking vocations.

On Saturday 23 March 2024, the 14th Carrefour des Métiers was held at the Jean Mermoz school in Dakar. This was an exceptional opportunity for the Likak Research team to talk about some of the industry’s key careers.

More than 100 professionals from 20 different sectors were represented at the event. From associations to local schools, not forgetting the parents and students in attendance. It was a unique opportunity to share and exchange ideas, particularly with the 3rd and 2nd year students. The main aim of the event was to highlight the career paths of each of the professionals present, in order to guide pupils and future students in their career choices for the future. It was an honour and a pleasure to share our core business and our passion: Clinical Research.

The day’s events highlighted three key areas of expertise at LIKAK Research:

– Senior Clinical Research Associate

He/she will ensure that the rights and welfare of study participants are respected, that the data is of optimum quality and that the regulations in force are applied.

Project Manager

He/she is responsible for meticulously monitoring the progress of the clinical study and reporting to the appropriate people in good time. He/she is responsible for ensuring that commitments made to the client are honoured, as well as administrative procedures, budgetary expenditure and the organisational and logistical aspects of the project. He/she receives extensive support from the Administrative and Financial Officer.

Clinical study doctor

A doctor (often a dentist) who manages and supervises the trial at the research centre. He/she is responsible for the care of study participants.

We were delighted to see some of their eyes light up when they heard about the medical research professions. We would be delighted to welcome some of the students on an immersion course on our premises if the opportunity arises.

We would particularly like to thank the organising and steering committee for this event, as well as all the staff at the Lycée Jean Mermoz, for giving us the opportunity to take part in this 14th edition. We salute this initiative to build the future of our children and renew our commitment to return if we are invited to do so again.

Here’s a snapshot of the event at our resort.
