MONITORING VISITS
Likak Research oversees the progress of clinical trials ensuring that they are conducted, recorded and reported in accordance with the approved protocol, SOPs, GCP and applicable regulatory requirements (ICH E6: 5.18). These tasks are conducted to the highest standards.
We have extensive experience in carrying out the following types of visits mainly in West, Central and East Africa :
- Feasibility studies: which site/s can be considered for the study?
The main reason for delays in clinical trials is BAD RECRUITMENT. Generally, poor recruitment contributes to delaying access to new treatments while increasing the cost of drug development. At Likak Research, identifying the most suitable site/s among the many qualified in Africa is a key element in the execution of our work. This process is built on indepth knowledge of clinical trial arena on the continent, our strong relationships and our proven partnerships.
- Pre-study visits : which site/s fit for the study ?
Each clinical trial is singular and has its specific challenges and opportunities. Likak Research ensures that identified sites are indeed capable of running the clinical trial they are selected for. You can trust us for identifying existing barriers to trial success and troubleshoot them.
- Initiation visits : is site ready to start recruitment ?
When and how best to actually start the trial is critical. All aspects from regulatory, Investigational Product, Laboratory, Pharmacy, clinic, staff must be assessed as applicable to provide site the best support they need for a successful kick off.
- Routine monitoring visits : Is site compliant?
Regular contacts are necessary to ensure site complies with Good Clinical Practices, approved protocol and documents, validated procedures and local applicable regulations.
With the COVID pandemic, Likak Research has developed tools and procedures to continue performing their tasks despite travel limitations. Risk based analysis is applied to determine those visits’ frequencies and formats.
- Close out visits : is everything well archived?
The study is over! We need to ensure that all documents are properly archived to sustain the total number of years required by the protocol. All necessary actions are taken and Investigational Product is duly disposed of.
Operational research on Health Systems
Since 2020, with the large number of Medical Doctors and Pharmacists in house, Likak Research has expanded its sphere of service provision to better support our clients.
Likak Research has particularly gathered experience on Health Information System (HIS) related research, having taken part in one of the most robust study on HIS. out of these experience, Likak Research identified the need for :
